Want to get more out of your photos? Learn to boss your camera around as you explore the basics of photography and composition through interactive activities in and around Grand Rapids' near Westside neighborhood. By the end of the course you will be able to compose and capture shots while shooting manually on a DSLR camera.

Morning Wheel Throwing

Want to get serious about wheel throwing while enjoying the summer mornings? You will spend theweek learning the basics of wheel throwing, have the opportunity to get your hands dirty, and leave with a new set of handmade ceramic ware. Projects include basic bowl and mug forms to a tiered jewelry tower. Due to drying and firing times, pottery will be ready for pick up 10 days after class ends.

If you've ever enjoyed tie-dyeing, you'll love the Japanese art of shibori! Learn how to do several different ties using string, clamps, and even plastic tubes to create unique patterns on your fabric. You'll leave with several multi-functional hand-dyed pieces.

Intro to Digital Illustration
